The Evening You Were Born

The evening you were born
I whispered prayers in your ear

And I know you heard me
Because you were silent
And looking
Our eyes locked

That peace whispered there
Was true

And if I had faith now
To stand on top of the mountain
I would remember the view

And that no matter mazes
Or tunnels dead-end
There was peace then

So will always be

As I whispered prayers
In your ear
The moment you were born
