A Poem About Dogs Barking

14960

What are you going to write tonight, friend?
Oh, it doesn’t really matter, does it?

Dogs bark in the day
Sometimes at things too far for our ears to know about

So we tell them to shut up
Or ask rhetorically, “What are you barking at?”

Could it be that sometimes I sit down to write
And something comes out with meaning
Too far for my mind to know about?

These thoughts are just more thoughts
There is nothing original here

“What are you barking at?”

What are you going to write tonight, friend?
Something new, something real

I am
