To Hold Poison

Franz-Bischoff-xx-A-Spring-Poem-xx-Private-collection

I drove by
In the hours after the funeral had broken up yesterday
The big city news vans at the diner
Ticks in the woods
And it rained
Like it rained the day she lay
Along the white river with the twin-leaf rising

Any way you accept this is the right way

For being naked, brave and open you never know
What will wash over you
