Some Thoughts on Acceptance

in-disgrace-william-henry-midwood

Like looking out across the landscape
Especially on a farm
It is easy to see what needs to be done
But what is
Is beautiful
And you’ll miss it

What’s the difference
Between attachment and acceptance,
Are they not opposites?

Focusing on loving
What should be, what could be,
What will be, what was
Is painful, or can be

Loving what is (accepting)
Is also painful, or can be
But somehow different

Wanting to help people
Be better than they are
Causes lots of problems

The response to terrorism is never
Forgive them they know not what they do
I don’t know what kind of response that would be

We have our own terrible seeds
To water as will
But it is a mistake to deny them
