Green Dragon Rising

The green dragon is waking
Raising his green head
Unfolding his green arms

So far, he is wise
Or perhaps still tired from his slumber
He holds his tongue and keeps his pulpit hid away

Waiting for the day
To unleash his green sermons
And spill out his fiery red children
In clustered mass and fleshy pulp

Then disappear beneath the ground again
All green gone
The dragon without color
Invisible to eyes
Beneath your feet again
